Grundy Walmart manager allays rumors of lagging application processJuly 5, 2011 Public concerns over low numbers of employment applications for the Grundy Walmart can be laid to rest according to the sites manager. Well over 400 applicants have sought employment at the superstore as early as last week with about 90 percent of those being county residents. The first batch of nearly 100 new hires started orientation this week, beginning their careers as official Walmart employees. |

The effort, which required tens of thousands in start-up costs, has all been garnered through local funding with Buchanan County Commonwealth’s Attorney Tamara Neo carrying out the drive for funding. |
